Pseudo-crater at lake Myvatn. These are formed when lava flows from a volcanic eruption engulf a lake and the explosive boiling of the water causes an eruption of steam through the lava flow. Typically they are tens of feet high. In the background can be seen plumes of steam from geo-thermal power stations. Iceland, Lake Myvatn. July 2000
