A wasp tends its nest. The nest consists of a couple of dozen hexagonal cells made from chewed wood. In each cell is an egg. The nest is build on a cactus (Opuntia species) and is protected by the cactus spines. Oliena, Sardinia, Italy. 10 May 2005.
