A Common Mole Cricket (Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa) makes its way across a stony stream bed. With its strong shovel-like front limbs it is quite capable of quickly burying itself in this material although it prefers moist soil. Its velvety body and stubby, powerful legs make it an ideal digger. Carla Luna near Carla Gonone, Dorgali, Sardinia, 27 September 2004.
