An extremely tatty butterfly, possibly a Meadow Brown (Maniola jurtina) feeds on a yellow flower. Despite only having about half its wing area this butterfly flew from flower to flower and fed successfully. Wings are broken, legs and scales lost by physical contact with vegetation and from encounters with birds. This butterfly also appears to have a fungal infection. Bedgebury Forest, Kent, UK. 09 August 2004.
