A black and yellow hoverfly possibly Melanostoma scalare feeds on a Common Fleabane (Pulicaria dysenterica) flower. This slim little hoverfly has a distinctive up-tailed posture when feeding. Bedgebury Forest, Kent, UK. 24 July 2004.
