The beach at Pett Level looking eastwards to the cliffs at Cliff End and Fairlight. This is an exposed beach on the south coast of england and it is maintained by extensive sea walls, wooden groins or breakwaters and the mechanical movement of gravel from further down the coast at Dungeness to replace shingle swept eastwards by tides. Pett Level East Sussex UK October 2003.
