A painting in traditional Bhutanese style shows a benevolent contemplative sage giving food and drink to a pair of cranes while a pair of deer look on adoringly. The picture is full of allegorical meaning and auspicious Buddhist symbolism relating to a long life, the six symbols of longevity. It originates in Chinese and Tibetan buddhist art. Punakha Punaka Dzong, Druk Yul, Bhutan. 14 November 2007
