Rock Hyrax or Rock Dassie (Procavia capensis). This colony lives in the rocks round a carpark and some of the dassies are vary tame. Much of their food comes from scavenging in dustbins; this is what this one is doing. Hermanus, Western Cape, Republic of South Africa. 16 November 2006.
